The postseason run for the Lone Tree Lions boys’ basketball team (17-6) came to an end Tuesday night. As heard live on KCII FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com, the Lisbon Lions (16-7) made their second trip to the Tree House this year, this time for a Class 1A District 9 semifinal battle. Lisbon’s Bailey Arwine score a game-high 23 points including going eight-for-nine from the free throw line to help Lisbon best Lone Tree, 61-57. The game featured 13 lead changes and was tied six times.
Lone Tree trailed 14-8 after the first quarter and 27-24 at halftime. They outscored Lisbon in the third quarter, 20-13, to take a 44-40 lead into the final eight minutes. Arwine scored 12 of Lisbon’s 21 points in the fourth quarter to propel the team to victory.
Niko Gosnell concluded his high school career with a team-high 21 points for Lone Tree. Jovonte Squiers poured in 10 points in his final high school basketball game.
Lone Tree’s season ends with a record over 17-6 overall, a one win regression for last season. The Lions lose Gosnell, Squiers, Trey Pierson, Ross Swinton, Michael Schmidt, Wyatt Westphal, and Dawson Swails graduation.
