The Iowa Mennonite boys basketball team had great individual and team performances, leading to a successful 2016-17 season.
Many of these performances ended up in the school’s record book. As a team, the IMS defense held opponents to just 44.2 points per game, the fourth best mark for a season in school history.
Individually, Nick Yutzy cracked the top 10 career assist list, finishing his time at IMS with 247, 10th best all-time. Mitchell Schmieder finished the year with 57 blocks, second most in a single season in school history. Cole Ours made his mark at the free throw line, setting a school record for best percentage in a year, going 28 for 30 at 93.3%. Ours is also seventh all-time with 15 consecutive made free throws.
The IMS boys ended the season with a 17-7 overall record.
