The Keota City Council will be holding a public hearing at their meeting Monday to discuss an ordinance adopting the 2015 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) for the city’s rental properties. Keota City Clerk Niki Osweiler explains, the city currently uses the 2009 version of IPMC, and they feel it’s out of date with current practices. The city invites the public to attend the forum to weigh in on the topic.

Also on the agenda is consideration of a 28E agreement with Washington County regarding the maintenance of roads within city limits. This is the final piece the city has been waiting for in order to pass the resolution approving the annexation of 2030, 2034, and 2038 Keokuk-Washington Road, which was tabled once again at the last city council meeting. The meeting will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the Keota City Hall.
