The Iowa Mennonite School girls track team travels to Central today to open the season indoors at the H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse.

The event is open to teams from Class 1A through 4A. IMS had a successful girls season a year ago with Rubye Ney qualifying for state in the 400m hurdles and Emma Beachy advancing to state in the shot put. Along with Beachy and Ney, IMS returns five other letter winners including Calli Shaw, Avery Blauvelt, Rachel Miller, Mackenzie Gutierrez and Suzanna Yoder. Newcomers include Ainsley Shaw, Rachel Geyer, Sarena Gerber, Greta Schrag, Payton Hart, Adria Ebersole, and Madison Higdon. The schedule of events includes 60m dash, 60m hurdles, 800m run, 1500m run, 3000m run, 4x400m relay, 4x800m relay, 800m sprint medley, high jump, long jump, and shot put. Action begins at 10 this  morning and continues the rest of the day at Central College in Pella.
