A local company has come forward and the former Washington Public Library building is no longer on the market. At Tuesday’s Washington City Council meeting, City Administrator Brent Hinson explained the purchase agreement that the council approved in February is still in effect and the buyer is now Greiner Buildings, Inc. The agreement for the purchase was signed over from the first buyer to Greiner Buildings, Inc. A close date on the sale of the building is anticipated before May 2nd. Hinson added, the council’s meetings in April will likely be the last in the current council chambers and they’ll then be held at the public library.
