Artifacts, uniforms, medals, news clippings, flags, photographs and much more can be seen at the F Troop Military Museum.
The Washington museum hosts military memorabilia from the Civil War up to recent engagements, including items from World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Iran. Some of the items featured in the museum are from local veterans and their families. The building and grounds of the museum were formerly used by the Iowa National Guard for a cavalry unit.
The museum is open seasonally, including this Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and it is located on Sitler Drive near the high school.
