The citizens of Henry County voted in favor of a new Henry County Jail and Law Enforcement Center in Tuesday’s special election.
According to Henry County Auditor Shelly Barber the vote was 84.7% in favor of a new jail, and 22.3% of Henry County’s registered voters turned out to cast ballots. The county will issue a bond of $9.1 million to build, equip, and furnish a new jail and law enforcement center on county-owned land or will acquire land if necessary.
