The Demon cross country teams were back on the course Thursday when they traveled to Fort Madison.
The boys’ team placed fifth out of five teams in their class with 88 points. Mount Pleasant took home the team title with 40 points. The Demons had a pair of top 10 finishers led by Brennan Horak in eighth with a time of 18:12. Evan Horak was just five seconds behind him placing ninth. Rounding out the Demon scoring was Jacob Van Osdol placing 12th, Matthew Collett 29th, and Blake Hartzler 30th. For the JV boys, leading the way was Kiowa Keith placing ninth with a time of 20:52. Michael Kimball nabbed 26th and David Rees was 32nd.
On the girls’ side, Washington placed fourth with 76 points, while the champion Panthers had 44. Once again Brooke Stout paced the Demons, placing sixth overall with a time of 22:17. Molly Sparks managed 11th, Ashley Telleen 15th, Meredith Raber 18th, and Josie Tanner was 26th. Hannah Rees who placed second in the JV competition led the Demons with a time of 24:54. Abby Voss placed seventh and Haylee Wilson was 11th.
The Demons will get back at it on Tuesday traveling to Mount Pleasant.
