A local organization that helps establish permanent funding for area non-profits is hosting their annual fundraising banquet in Richmond.
Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Washington County Millie Youngquist explains what the group does, “[We work with] people who are interested in philanthropy and supporting local cause, we work with donors and non-profits to establish endowment funds. And endowment funds are funds that remain permanently invested and every year some of the proceeds come to that organization. But the original amount is not spent and continues to grow, so it’s a permanent source of funding for non-profits.”
The meal was originally a competition between two chefs, but now it is a way to feature local foods and an individual chef from the community. Youngquist says local barbecue caterer Kevin Kron will be presenting the meal, with wine tasting from Revasser Winery of Ainsworth, and a dessert auction to wrap up the night with a variety of desserts from area bakers and restaurants.
The dinner is Monday, November 13th, at Holy Trinity Parish Life Center in Richmond and starts at 5:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance from a Community Foundation member and are $50 each, with $32 being tax deductible.
