The Highland football team saw seven players named to the class 1A district 4 all district teams.
Two first-teamers were the headliners for the Huskies including junior quarterback Trey Lasek. The dual-threat quarterback was top 10 in the district in both passing and rushing yards, amassing over 1,700 yards of total offense on the year and 16 touchdowns. The other player named to the first team was defensive end Cory Stewart. The junior was second on the team in tackles with 43, including three for a loss.
Jordan Sosa and Brady Hahn represented the Huskies on the second team. Hahn led the team in tackles with 48, and had 250 yards receiving with a pair of scores. Sosa was in the slot and had over 300 yards of total offense with three touchdowns, and added 24 tackles.
Three players were recognized as honorable mentions. Brody Burton was an anchor to the offensive line, corralled 36 tackles, and did the kicking duties making all six of his point after touchdown attempts. Fellow offensive lineman Kane Castillo was also recognized. The duo helped pave the way to over 2,000 yards of total offense on the year. The final recipient was Mason McFarland chosen as a receiver. The sophomore led the team in receiving with 506 yards and three scores.
The Huskies finished the 2017 campaign with a 2-7 record.
