A Columbus Junction native is now the host of a weekly nationally syndicated agribusiness program, Market to Market.
Delaney Howell is a 2012 graduate of Columbus Junction High School, and while growing up on her family’s farm she was heavily involved in 4-H and FFA. Howell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture science from Northwest Missouri State University and is currently working on her master’s degree in agricultural communications.
In her years as an agriculture reporter, Howell says she likes telling its story, “And I’m really excited about the future of the industry. I think that there are a lot of young leaders coming into the industry now prepared to tackle this big problem of, ‘How are we going to feed the world by 2050?’ That’s a common problem that we hear kind of banged into our heads at a lot of meetings and conferences, and I think that there’s a really powerful generation that’s going to give that problem a resolution.”
Howell hopes to incorporate reporting into her role as host at Market to Market on Iowa Public Television. She has contributed to other publications such as This Week in Agribusiness and Agri-Pulse, and is the co-creator of the podcast Ag News Daily.
