Elizabeth Syperda

Lawyers gave their closing arguments Monday in the trial for a man accused of killing his wife in Henry County.

The nonjury trial began May 2nd as lawyers presented their arguments to District Court Judge Mark Kruse of 52-year-old Michael Syperda’s guilt or innocence surrounding the July 2000 disappearance of 22-year-old Elizabeth Syperda. A hearing is scheduled for June 25th when Kruse will give his verdict. Michael Syperda waived his right to a jury trial after a Grand Jury indicted him on November 29, 2017, when Elizabeth’s disappearance was classified as a homicide. He is in custody at the Henry County Jail.
