Recycling contract revisions and the Federation Bank Building are both on the agenda for Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting.
The supervisors are continuing their conversation of possibly purchasing the bank building in downtown Washington and moving some county offices to that location. Last week an engineer visited the building and estimated the square footage for needs but did not have a figure for remodel costs. The estimated cost of the building is $1.7 million. Also, the board will consider revisions to the current contract with WEMIGA Waste Systems for operation of the county’s recycling center. The market has turned and it is now costing contractors to get rid of paper and plastic products. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
