The KCII Big Red Radio will be celebrating the Fourth of July at two area communities this Wednesday.
The City of Wellman is having day-long activities, beginning with a kiddie parade at 9:30 a.m. and the main parade at 10 a.m. and the day continues with food vendors, a pedal tractor pull, pony rides, bingo, three-on-three basketball and more. Hard Barney & Friends will be playing music at 6:30 p.m. in the bandshell at North Park with fireworks at dusk.
Wayland’s Independence Day Celebration begins with the Wayland Lions Club Breakfast from 6:30-9:30 a.m. at the Wayland Community Center, and a freedom fun walk and run at 7:30 a.m. at central park. A parade is at 10:30 a.m., followed by a lunch hosted by the WACO High School girls basketball team, town trivia from 2-3 p.m. at the community center, a town-wide scavenger hunt, with fireworks at dusk at the WACO football field. The Big Red Radio will be broadcasting live from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. from Wellman and Wayland this Fourth of July and playing patriotic music at Washington’s fireworks display at the county fairgrounds at 9:30 p.m., as part of the KCII Summer Town Tour.
