A new Crawfordsville City Council member has been chosen in a special election Tuesday.

Tom Conrad was elected with 35 votes over Cathy Williams with 34 votes. Seventy-one residents voted total with 11 voting absentee. Conrad is filling the seat left vacant by John Burroughs. Conrad’s term is set to end in December 2019. Election results are unofficial until a canvassing by the Washington County Board of Supervisors.
