Washington has had a wetter than normal September so far.
According to the National Weather Service, in the first three weeks of September Washington usually has about 2.5 inches of precipitation and this year 6.9 inches of rain was observed. The record precipitation for that time period was set in 1965 at 11.1 inches. The average temperature is normally 65.8 degrees in the first 21 days and this year it was about five degrees warmer. So far this year the total precipitation has been about 34 inches, above the normal 28.5 inches. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
