In their final tune-up before the start of the season, the IMS boys basketball team handled the Holy Trinity Crusaders Friday night in the Hall of Pride game at Hillcrest Union in Kalona, earning the win by a 60-49 score.
IMS was dominant early, shooting it well and locking things down defensively to jump out to a 13-3 lead after one frame. They never trailed on the evening. IMS had a trio in double figures, led by Trevor Leyden with 15 points, Caleb Gingerich had 12 and Jeremy Niemeyer added 11. IMS opens the season Tuesday against Lone Tree.
