The Washington girls’ basketball team took the road to face off against Burlington last night, taking the loss 41-37.
The Demons were winners in the first half, going into the break up 22-19. But, as they say, basketball is a tale of two halves, and Burlington stormed back and outscored Washington 22-15 in the last two quarters of play to take the win.
The Demons were led in scoring by Kira Ropp with nine points, followed by Phelan Hostetler and Haylee Wilson with eight points each. Addison Six pounded the glass all game long, finishing with 14 rebounds. As a team, the Demons finished with just 10 fouls on the night as opposed to the 23 in the season opener.
Their next action comes on Saturday afternoon when the Spartans of Solon come into town. Game time is set for 4:30.
