The Washington boys’ basketball team opened up their season with a loss at Iowa City Liberty on Tuesday night.  Now, they’ll look to turn things around as they hit the road to take on Muscatine.

The Demons are coming off of double-digit scoring outputs from Trevor Quigley and Luke Turner on Tuesday night.  Head coach Collin Stark was happy with their performances, but thinks that kind of contribution could come from anyone.

“The thing I like most about our team is that I thought Trevor and Luke had great games statistically against Liberty, and I would anticipate they’re going to have a good game this next game, but I could see any one of our five, six, seven guys having a game like they did,” Stark said.

“I think that’s what’s going to make it hard to guard us.  Trevor and Luke had a game that points-wise was double-figures, but we’ll see.  Maybe Cade Hennigan, maybe Treshaun Willis, maybe Kolton Hinrichsen. I could keep naming names.  They might be on top of the points category this next game.”

Muscatine is coming off a state tournament appearance a season ago, but lost all five of their starters to graduation as well as their head coach.  They opened up their season last night against Iowa City, City High, losing big time, 58-15.

Coverage of tonight’s game will be found on FM 106.1 and KCIIradio.com starting with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show at 7:00 with a 7:30 tip-off.
