The Highland girls’ basketball team competed in the Southeast Iowa Superconference’s annual shootout last night, traveling to West Burlington and taking a 61-39 loss.

The Huskies played a pretty tight ballgame, if you take the first quarter out of consideration.  They got out to a rocky start, getting outscored 16-3 in the first quarter.  They would enter the halftime break down 11, but the Falcons would tack onto their lead throughout the next two quarters to take the victory.

Their fourth straight loss moves the Huskies to 12-6 on the year.  They’ll go again on Monday when they hit the road to take on Winfield-Mt. Union.
