The plans for the updated City Hall and Police Station project will be presented at Tuesday’s Washington City Council meeting. The current building which also houses the fire station will be refurbished to split the space between just city hall and the police department. The new fire station is being constructed just south of the current building. Also, the council will consider proposed plans and a contract for the southeast sewer basin inflow and infiltration reduction project. City Administrator Brent Hinson shares why the project is being done, “The bottom line is of why we’re doing it is both the system maintenance aspect and then it’s also removal of storm water from the sanitary sewer and hopefully a great reduction in sanitary sewer back ups.” The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Washington Public Library.
