night-to-shine

The red carpet will be rolled out in Washington for the Night to Shine prom Friday. The Tim Tebow Foundation sponsors Night to Shine proms for adults with special needs in all 50 states and 22 countries with more than 650 host churches. Ann Williams has helped organize the local event and explains the evening, “This is a royal prom for adults with disabilities, this includes everyone coming dressed up in their prom attire. We have the red carpet with paparazzi. We have a photograph opportunity which everyone goes home with a gift from the Tim Tebow Foundation that included their photograph in a special commemorative frame. We have a wonderful evening meal. And we have karaoke, and dancing, and then each person is crowned either king or queen of the prom.”

Each of the 100 attendees will have a volunteer buddy to accompany them all evening from dinner to dancing. The Washington United Methodist Church is the official host church with area support. This is the second year Night to Shine has been hosted in Washington.
