Iowa Mennonite School will continue a 59-year-old tradition this weekend. The senior class will be hosting their annual chilli supper to raise money for graduation costs, their senior class trip, choir tours, and other experiences that enhance their final year at IMS.

Math teacher Lynn Yoder, who is overseeing the event, says the supper also provides a chance for the community to come together, “I’m always very impressed with how well our events are attended. Wither it be ball games, or concerts, or drama productions, or these fundraising meals, or whatever, it just seems like this little school here on the outskirts of Kalona we get a lot of community members on our side. It’s just fun to see everybody come out.”

The supper is Saturday from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Union. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and children 4 and under eat free.
