The Sigourney-Keota wrestling team will have two guys going in tomorrow’s district round.
Mason Dye, who is ranked fifth by the Predicament in the 113 weight class, made it through to districts after being placed directly into the first place match due to his number one seed in the sectional. He won that match fairly comfortably, beating Mediapolis’s Quenton Aney by an 8-2 decision.
Trent Hendricks is the other Cobra wrestler in Saturday’s district round after placing second in the 138 weight class. His first match was over very quickly, pinning his opponent in 59 seconds. He then fell to Pekin’s Zach Hammes by a 16-5 major decision, but a wrestle-back was not required.
Dye, Hendricks and the rest of the Sigourney-Keota team will be at Wilton tomorrow. Action is set to start at noon.
