The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team has their final contest of the regular season tonight when they travel to Durant to meet the Wildcats.
The Golden Hawks come into the day with an overall record of 10-9 after a 71-55 win over the Wilton Beavers on Monday. Dominic Pickard led the Golden Hawks with 18 points. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Tom Butters and Cale Robertson, each with 13 points per game, eighth in the River Valley Conference. Butters leads the state in class 2A with 217 rebounds while Brad Tornow is best in the conference and eighth in 2A with 97 assists.
Durant has an overall record of 7-12. They lost at home to Tipton Wednesday 44-43. Easton Botkins leads the Wildcats this season scoring 17 points per game, fifth in the River Valley Conference. His 72 assists are second in the conference. Bryce Lafrenz leads Durant on the glass with 119 rebounds, seventh in the RVC. These two teams met in early January with Mid-Prairie taking a 65-53 win. Tip off is set for 7:30 at Durant High School.
