The Washington Demons will be playing jazz at the District SEIBA contest Saturday. The Washington High School Jazz Band will perform bright and early at 8 a.m. at Iowa City West High School. The high school will be playing Nutville with solos by Rio Lujano, Stephanie Plants, and Meghan Newman; St. James Infirmary with Abby Schnicker, Gwen Flannery, and Audrey Wubbena featured; and Sister Sadie with Flannery on tenor saxophone.

The Washington Middle School Jazz Band performs at 10:30 a.m. and soloists include Mikaila Matheson, Claire Wubbena, Caleb Hunger, Kevin Flannery, Trenton Heisdorffer, Brennen Westphal, Levi Applegate, Will Gilchrist-Brock, Julianna Watson, Samantha Hunger, and Matthew Vander Pol.
