The Washington girls’ basketball team ended the year with an 8-14 record after making it to round two of the postseason. Because of the season they had, five players were named to the Southeast Conference’s all-conference teams.
Senior Isabel Bailey was the lone first-teamer for the Demons after leading the team in scoring with 8.0 points per game. She also had 40 steals on the season, which was good for a tie for sixth in the Southeast Conference.
One Demon was named to the second team in the form of junior Addison Six. She finished in a tie for second on the team in points per game with 5.5, third on the team in total rebounds with 98, and tied for the team lead in blocks with eight. Six did all this while also missing most of January with a broken nose.
Three Demons were given honorable mentions: junior Olivia Pacha and seniors Kira Ropp and Haylee Wilson. Pacha had something of a breakout year in her junior season, finishing with the team lead in total rebounds (133) and was third in points scored (107) after putting up four points and six rebounds all of last season. Ropp was the team’s second-leading scorer (115 points scored) and one of two top shot-blockers (8), while Wilson was the team’s most efficient shooter (44.4 percent) and second-leading rebounder (100 total).
