Iowa Mennonite School head boys basketball coach Dwight Gingerich added some impressive milestones to his resume last season.

With his team’s 57-34 win over Winfield Mt. Union in December on the road, Gingerich got his 650th career win, one of only nine coaches in the history of Iowa High School basketball to reach that plateau. He has accumulated the second most wins all-time at a single school in Iowa history, trailing only former Western Christian coach Jim Eekhoff by 27 games. He boasts a .781 winning percentage over 35 seasons. That winning percentage ranks fourth among coaches in the top 10 all-time. Gingerich’s teams have averaged just under 19 wins per season over his 35 year tenure at IMS. His all-time record stands at 659-184, fourth most wins among active coaches. IMS was 13-7 last season.
