Two Washington farmers placed in the 2018 National Corn Yield Contest. Josh Vittetoe placed third in the state in the AA No-Till/Strip-Till Non-Irrigated Class with a yield of 317.4 bushels per acre. Marc Knupp placed third in the state in the AA Non-Irrigated Class with a yield of 301.7 bushels per acre. The projected U.S. average for 2018 was 176.6 bushels per acre. A farmer in Michigan had 477.7 bushels per acre.
