The Mid-Prairie boys track team continues their indoor season Tuesday when they travel to Ames for the Iowa State University indoor meet.
The Golden Hawk boys were last in action Friday when they traveled to Pella for the Central College Indoor meet. At that event the Golden Hawks were led by Elmir Ganibegovic winning his heat in the 60m dash with a time of 7.53 seconds. Josh Wallington finished the 200 in 26.90 seconds. Spencer Yutzy was fastest in the 400 at 2:25.48, Thaddeus Shetler led the team in the mile at 5:17.70, Lucas Bontrager was best in the two mile at 11:38.09. In field events, Micah Gugel was 20th in the shot put with a distance of 12.99 meters. The 4×200 team of Ganibegovic, Grant Boyse, Aidan Rath and Tom Butters were eighth in 1:39.49, the 4×400 team of Quinn Schmidt, Boyse, Ganibegovic and Miles Burrows were fifth in 3:42.13, and the 4×800 team of Schmidt, Burrows, Shetler and Brad Tornow was ninth in 9:10.92.
