Water quality improvements have been made in the City of Washington.
The city has a new ground storage tank, new water tower, and reverse osmosis treatment units. Water Treatment Superintendent Kyle Wellington explains that in February of 2018 the city’s drinking water hardness was 338 parts per million or 20 grains per gallon. In 2019, after treatment improvements, the water hardness fell to 82 parts per million or 5 grains per gallon.
