The Winfield-Mt. Union boys’ track and field team competed in the Steve Roth Relays last night, taking third in Class C division scoring with 71 points.
Things were strong right off the bat for the Wolves, with Brandon Snowden and Juanito Piper taking first and third in the 100-meter dash, respectively. The pair took first and fourth, respectively in the 200 as well. Snowden earned himself another high finish in the 400 too, taking third in 54.05 seconds.
Another notable finish was sophomore Talon Newton, who took first in the high jump by clearing 5’8″. Jared Arnold had success in the throwing events, taking fourth in the shot put and fifth in the discuss.
The next meet for the Wolves will be on Monday night in West Burlington. That meet is slated to start at 4:30.
