Brighton will look to a familiar face to serve as mayor. At the recent city council meeting, former mayor Robert Farley was appointed mayor after David Hagans resigned earlier this year. Farley was voted out of office just before his third term, in favor of Hagans in 2017. Hagans announced his resignation in February after spending just over one year in office. Rose Jaynes was named mayor pro tem until the council could make an official appointment. Farley will serve until the next election in November.
