A Kalona man was arrested for sexual exploitation of a minor and disseminating obscene material. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 11:34 a.m. Thursday 20-year-old Jackson Yaro Young was arrested. He was charged with two counts of telephone dissemination of obscene material to a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, and two counts of failure to comply with the sex offender registry. The arrest followed an incident that was reported to authorities on Wednesday in Kalona. Young was taken to the Washington County Jail.

In 2017 he filed a guilty plea for sexual abuse in the third degree in Linn County and the victim was under the age of 13 years old.
