Four area teams will travel to the Williamsburg Raider Boys Relays Monday night.

The Washington Demons were last in action Thursday at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mount Pleasant. Washington was led by Ethan Hunt who won the 400 in 53.34 seconds. Mitchell Driscoll added a runner-up in the 200. This week, Washington Demon head boys coach Steve Roth talked about what he is looking for from his kids at Williamsburg. “We’re going to try a lot of different stuff at Williamsburg Monday and at the Demon Relays Thursday. We are going to shake things up. You’re going to see some different names in some different events.”

Mid-Prairie will also travel to Williamsburg Monday. They also participated at the Mount Pleasant meet on Thursday. Mid-Prairie won three championships in their first time outdoors this year. The Mid-Prairie sprint medley team of Clarke Latchem, Josh Wallington, Aidan Rath and Grant Boyse won gold in 1:39.10. The Mid-Prairie 4×800 team of Quinn Schmidt, Brad Tornow, Thaddeus Shetler and Miles Burrows won in 8:47.57 and the Golden Hawk 4×200 team of Elmir Ganibegovic, Boyse, Tom Butters and Rath won in 1:34.98.

Iowa Mennonite School will make the trip to Williamsburg Monday for their first outdoor meet of the year. Last time they were on the track was the Central Indoor at Pella. At the meet IMS participated with John Hughes in the 60m dash, Toby Chen in the 200, Aaron Hershberger in the 60m hurdles, Brian Nchoe in the 800, a 4×200 team of Chen, Hershberger, Hughes and Colby Harris and a 4×400 team of Hershberger, Hughes, Nchoe and Harris.

The WACO boys were last on the track Monday at the Ruritan Relays at Pekin. Leading WACO at the meet were three championship events including Elijah McGohan in the 400 at 56.52 seconds, Colton Horak in the 400 hurdles in 59.19 seconds and the Warrior sprint medley team in 1:42.34.

Joining the Demons, Golden Hawks and Warriors at Williamsburg will be Belle Plaine, Benton, Grinnell, Oskaloosa, Solon, Vinton-Shellsburg and Williamsburg.
