Jennifer Smallwood
Two women were arrested after being found going through a vehicle in Washington Sunday night. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 7:34 p.m. a woman called authorities saying that two women were going through her vehicle in the 1000 block of North Marion Avenue and then they drove off. Washington Police later found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Police arrested 24-year-old Jennifer Smallwood of Washington for operating while intoxicated first offense, interfering with official acts, and pending charges per DCI lab results.
Also, 24-year-old Brenda Rodriguez-Carillo of Cedar Rapids was arrested for interference with official acts, burglary in the third degree, and public intoxication, with additional charges pending per DCI lab results. Smallwood and Rodriguez-Carillo were taken to the Washington County Jail.
Smallwood assaulted a jailer at approximately 1 a.m. Washington Police and Washington County Sheriff’s personnel responded to the jail. Smallwood was also charged with assault on persons in certain occupations causing bodily injury.
