A woman was charged with assault on medical personnel after wrecking her car near Riverside Monday night. According to the Washington County Communications Office Kelley Suzanne Williams ran a stop sign at Highway 22 and Vine Avenue at a high rate of speed. The vehicle became airborne and went into the ditch south of the intersection. The Jeep Grand Cherokee hit a power line, rolled, and came to rest on its side. Williams was trapped inside. Riverside Fire Department, Riverside QRS, Washington County Ambulance, Washington County Sheriff’s personnel, and Eastern Iowa Light and Power responded to the scene. Williams was taken by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital. Charges are pending per DCI lab results for operating while intoxicated and assault on medical personnel.
