The only girl/boy doubleheader of the spring will take place today for Washington, as both soccer teams search for win streaks against Mediapolis.

The Demon girls are coming off of an emphatic 6-1 win over Keokuk on Thursday headlined by a four-goal performance from Trina Griffin. The 1-1 Demons face off with a Mediapolis squad that beat Keokuk 3-0 earlier in the week. Rachael Kennedy has a pair of goals on the season.

After dropping their first two games of 2019, the Demon boys bounced back to down the Chiefs 1-0 Thursday. Zac Stout had the lone goal assisted by Pascual Mendoza. Benjamin Baughman has compiled 36 saves in goal in three games. The Bulldogs are 2-1 and beat Wapello 6-2 last week. Alejandro Garcia has already tallied three goals on the young season.

The girls’ open up the day playing at 8 a.m. this morning with the boys to follow at Washington High School.
