Applications are available for KCII’s Business and Broadcasting Scholarships. KCII Radio provides two $500 scholarships each year. KCII General Manager Joe Nichols encourages students to apply, “There’s just a small application that you would fill out with some information, and tell us a little bit about you as a person, because that’s something that I find very important. It’s not always about where your ACT and SAT scores are, what your academic rank is, but I look at, you know, the type of person that you are and the types of things that you get involved with. So you’d fill that out and send that back into us.”
The scholarships are for area students graduating high school who plan to further their education in the fields of business or broadcasting at either a two-year or four-year college or university. Nichols says the application forms have been distributed to more than 15 area high schools. The recipients of the two $500 awards will be named May 24th.
