The Washington middle school track teams recently found success in area competitions.
The 8thgrade boys’ team won at Mount Pleasant last week with 130 points. Ethan Patterson had himself a day winning the 100m, 200m, and 400m and Elijah Morris had top honors in the 1600m run. Relay events claiming first place included the 4x800m of Austin Rebling, Drew Horak, Julian Marcelino, and Cameron Vonpongy, the distance medley of Clayton Streeter, Logan Wenger, Keaton Crawford, and Adin Muff, and the 4x100m of James Strabala, Julian Marcelino, Austin Rebling, and Elijah Morris.
The 8thgrade girls ran away with their home meet on Monday with 113 points. First place finishes included Alex Murphy in the shot put, Grace Voss in the high jump, Makenna Conrad in the 400m, and Molly Klinzman in both the 100m hurdles and 200m hurdles.
The 7thgrade girls placed second at their home meet with 63 points. Rylee Libe had the lone first place finish in the discus. Second place events included Maci Williams in the shot put, Audrey Anderson in the long jump, Taylor Bartholomew in the 400m dash, the shuttle hurdle, and the 4x400m relay.
