The WACO boys’ track team hosted the Warrior Relays Tuesday night along with area schools of Sigourney, Lone Tree, and Winfield-Mt. Union.

The Savages did some damage finishing second in the class B division out of six teams with 98 points while Danville seized the title with 135. Payton Schauf had the lone first place finish in the discus with a heave of 149’5’’. Second place events included Schauf in the shot put (42’7.5’’), Spencer Magill in the high jump (6’0’’), and Tristan Bell in the 400m hurdles (59.28).

Lone Tree finished in a tie for third with 90 points, WMU was fifth with 80, and WACO was sixth with 79. Lone Tree’s Harmon Miller bested the whole field in the 800m run with a time of 2:11.31 and Cale Yoder won the shot put throwing 42’7.5’’. WMU’s Brandon Snowden continued to blaze past competition in the 100m finishing first (11.08) and Talon Newton won by tiebreaker in the high jump (6’0’’). The 4x200m relay team also received top honors (1:35.38). First place events for WACO included Colton Horak in the 110m hurdles (15.55) and 400m hurdles (58.07), shuttle hurdle relay (1:07.15), and the sprint medley relay team (1:42.50).
