Landlords for properties in the City of Washington are reminded that registration of their non-owner occupied properties are due May 1st. In Washington, rental properties are required to register and pay a fee annually. Properties are inspected on a rotating basis with each being inspected every three years. Inspections are for the health and safety of residents. Items inspected include plumbing requirements, heat sources, electrical services, lighting, ventilation, smoke alarms, and carbon monoxide detectors.
