Putting greens will be invading downtown Washington. The Second Annual Main Street Masters Putt-Putt Tournament is being held Friday. Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt says 24 businesses will be hosting holes around the square. The holes range in difficulty and complexity, “We had a hole that was really simple, that was just a piece of astroturf and then they took pool noodles and made bumpers for it and then made obstacles. To someone who built a full-scale miniature golf course style hole with multiple places to putt to and channels that would take the ball down to the hole to the green below. I mean, very complicated to very simple.”
Bring a golf ball and a putter if you have them and take part in the all ages event. There will be a few putters on hand to be used. It is $5 per player, kids eight and under are free. It starts at 5 p.m. in Central Park and all proceeds go to Main Street Washington. Prizes will be awarded to participants.
