The Washington Summer Classic is 4 Fun-filled days celebrating Washington and is a great way to get out and kick off Summer! This year the events start on Thursday, May, 30th and run through Sunday, June 2nd! With a so much going on, there’s sure to be several things to bring a smile to each family member’s face from the young ones all the way up to Grandma and Grandpa! So get the family together and make some memories!
Here’s a list of the final day’s events:
June 2, 2019: Fly-In Breakfast & Latino Festival
7-11am: Fly in Breakfast at the airport. $7 for adults. Less for children. Hosted by American Legion and The Pilots Association of Washington with special thanks to Mobile Aircraft Maintenance and The Washington Airport Commission.
- The Flight Breakfast at the Washington Airport has been a tradition for over 50 years. Pancakes, sausage, and eggs are served.
- Watch the planes come and go and share your excitement of aviation with your children up close.
- Notice: This is an active airport with propellers turning and aircraft moving. When propellers are turning they are hard to see and are extremely dangerous so exercise caution and keep children by your side.
1-4pm. Washington Military Museum, F-Troop is open. 219 Sitler Drive
11:30am-12:30pm: St. James Bilingual English/Spanish Mass
12:30-6pm: A Variety of Delicious Latino Food Vendors serving Tacos, Tortas, Burritos, Tamales, Corn, Limonadas, Mango Ice Cream, Puerto Rican Food and more! Latino Musical Performances, Children & Family Activities including a Bounce House, Free Face Painting, Pinatas, Games & Dancing. Join in on the Corn Eating, Salsa & Regalia Contests, Zumba, Churromais Clown from Moline, Educational & Informational Booths.
