The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team has a chance to make it back-to-back River Valley Conference titles Friday when they travel to Muscatine Municipal Golf Course for the annual RVC Championship meet.
A year ago, Mid-Prairie beat the field at Blue Top Ridge in Riverside for their first conference title since 2013, firing a 410 team score. Entering play today Mid-Prairie is second in the River Valley South and third overall behind Tipton at 378 and Monticello at 383 with their 392 average per 18 holes. The Hawks are led by Abby Statler’s 95 average per 18 holes, second best in the RVC South. The Hawks will be joined in Muscatine by Tipton, Wilton, West Branch, Regina, Durant, West Liberty, Monticello, Anamosa, Camanche, Northeast Goose Lake, North Cedar, Bellevue and Cascade. Action starts at 9a.m. in Muscatine.
