A man tried to flee after crashing his car in Mount Pleasant. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 12:34 p.m. Tuesday they received a report of a single vehicle wreck in the 2700 grid of Franklin Avenue. After an investigation it was found that David Copeland of Fairfield lost control of his vehicle after hitting a bump in the road. This caused the car to veer to the other side of the road where it ultimately crashed and rolled into a ditch. Copeland then tried to flee the scene. He was located shortly after by law enforcement. Copeland was charged with driving while suspended and failure to maintain control. Nobody was injured in the wreck. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mt. Pleasant Fire and Rescue and The Mt. Pleasant Ambulance.
