The Sigourney girls’ golf team traveled to Knoll Ridge Golf Course for the first round of a class 1A regional Monday and Madison Schwenke saw her season continue cracking the top six to advance.
The senior placed third overall with a 92 in the 18-hole meet while Lynnville-Sully’s Tessa VanMaanen was meet-medalist with 85. Sigourney placed fourth out of seven teams with 443. Iowa Valley and North Mahaska were able move on with team scores of 391 and 421, respectively. Other scores for the Savages included Lily Schmidt 102, Sidney Morse 123, Corinne Donald 125, Maizy Cowman 131, and Savhannah White 142.
Schwenke advances to the regional final on Monday in Brooklyn.
