The national Click It or Ticket campaign is being emphasized ahead of the Memorial Day weekend. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington Police Department and Iowa State Patrol want our citizens to have a safe Memorial Day weekend. During the holiday, people are reminded to wear their seat belts, and do not drive drunk or impaired. Last year in Iowa there were four traffic fatalities during Memorial Day weekend. The Iowa Department of Public Safety is reminding people to put their seat belts on in every type of vehicle and when sitting in the back seat. Agencies across the Hawkeye State will be putting forth additional effort to enforce traffic laws that are proven to save lives. Wear your seat belt, drive the speed limit, don’t drink and drive, and enjoy the Memorial Weekend.
