The first event for the Washington track teams in Des Moines was a success, as senior Mitchell Driscoll medaled in the 400m dash.

Driscoll clocked in at 50.24 seconds to place eighth overall and pick up one team point. Washington also had the boys’ shuttle hurdle relay team of Lincoln Kleese, Ben Schiefer, Spencer Sotelo, and Cade Hennigan placed 14th (1:03.59). The Demons will have a busy Friday including Driscoll a part of the 4x400m relay prelims. Other relay events competing include the girls and boys 4x100m prelims; the boys 4x400m prelims; and the girls 4x200m relay final. Individuals competing include Hennigan and Kleese in the 110m hurdles; Jenah Greiner and Isabel Bailey in the long jump; and Ethan Hunt in the 400m hurdles.
