
Two area athletes are advancing to the girls state golf tournament.
Mid-Prairie junior Abbi Patterson and Columbus senior Aubrey Duncan competed in their regional finals Monday. Patterson led the Golden Hawks with a score of 94 in Pleasantville, earning her a fifth-place finish. Duncan took first place in Lynnville to punch her ticket to state, needing only 86 strokes to do so. Patterson will head to Ames for the class 2A state tournament and Duncan will travel to Marshalltown to compete in class 1A. State golf tees off May 28th and 29th.
